File Maintenance

The File Maintenance utility will actually physically remove all records marked for deletion from each file.  When you use the program and tell it to delete a record, it simply flags the record and then doesn't show it, but does not actually remove it from the file.  It is actually possible to "undelete" records.  However, once you run File Maintenance, those records no longer exist in the file.

This utility must be run with no computers accessing the data for Auto Shop Writer.  The safest way to run it is to turn off all other computers beside the server.

When you finish running this utility, be sure to reindex all files before re-entering the program.
